      Here at last!

Board of Directors

It seems as if it has been ages since we broke ground on the clubhouse project. And it has been quite an undertaking! We are happy and proud to say that it is essentially complete. A Texas-sized THANK YOU to all the wonderful volunteers. You made it happen!

Already it is becoming a center of action. The Board of Directors holds all its meetings there. The community has had one potluck in it and hopes to have many more. Some families have reserved it for private birthday and/or Christmas celebrations.

We have a real office! All our records have now been consolidated . There is telephone,

facsimile and e-mail support, which makes it much easier to maintain two-way communi-
cations with the property owners, real estate offices, title companies, etc.

The clubhouse will be available to members anytime it is open. Additionally, it is possible to reserve it for private functions. The cost is minimal. At last year’s Annual Membership Meeting, the property owners voted to assess a $50.00 fee plus a $50.00 deposit. The

money is strictly to cover upkeep and utilities.
We will be discussing the  utilization of the clubhouse and lining up future projects at our next Annual Meeting

Yes, another year has flown by! Our Annual Membership Meeting is almost due. Mark your calendars! Plan to join us at 10 AM on 8 March 2008 in the RCMC Clubhouse in Kell Park. We will have the coffee pot on around 9 AM and will have refreshments as well.

  Topics for the meeting include

usage of the new clubhouse, renovation and improvement of the pool area and discussion of other means to improve the park. We will present the budget for 2008 and you will elect some of your directors for the next two years. We hope to see you there!

   We are growing…..

Was this approved by  the RCMC Architectural Control committee?

As anyone who drives around the neighborhood can see….we are growing! At this time 65 homes have been completed and occupied. Another 13 are in various stages of permitting and/or construction. We welcome all the new residents and hope you will truly feel “at home” here. There will be many opportunities to join with us in potlucks, coffee hours, volunteer workdays, etc. We hope you will be able to participate. Our goal is

to have a community that will truly be caring & sharing!

Along with all the new construction, there are ongoing renovations and improvements. We applaud your efforts to improve the neighborhood. At the same time, however, we must remind all property owners to review the deed restrictions. Improvements must be submitted to the Architectural Control Committee for approval, prior to start of

work. This includes such things as (but is not limited to) decks, additions, fences, garages and outbuildings. This submission need not be overly complex. A good drawing with dimensions, location on the plat, etc., and some explanation of materials to be used will normally suffice.

Your average doghouse does not require approval!

   Yes, you!

The Property Owners Association is administered by the Board of Directors. It normally meets once a month. The BOD is elected by the members at the Annual Membership Meeting. In turn, the BOD elects/appoints the officers of the POA. The president appoints committees to assist the officers in the necessary work of the POA.

Would you consider becoming a director? If not, could you assist us on one of the committees? We need your advice and your assistance. Without this, we cannot adequately represent the community as a whole. Together, we can make this a great place to live.

During the upcoming meeting, we will fill at least one vacancy on the BOD. We are in great need of help in the administrative area, which includes such things as this newsletter, the website, keeping our records current and so on. Please give this your consideration. We can use you, no matter what your talents are.

   Legislative changes

The new House Bill 873 became effective the first of the year. It overrules and supersedes that portion of any Deed Restrictions regarding the placement of political signs.

The current Deed Restrictions read: “No sign of any kind shall be displayed to the public
view on any lot, except one sign of not more than 5 square feet, advertising the property for sale or rent, or signs used by a builder to advertise the property during the construction and sales period.”

The new law permits political signs, but only on the owners

private property—not on easements, roadways, intersections or entrances. The signs must be placed no more than 90 days before the election and must be removed within 10 days after the election.
