Mr. Carpenter,
I am a little confused about this. My paperwork for the lot I purchased mentions nothing about having to pay for fire hydrants. We have already paid the water assessment. There is no structure on our lot. When did this come up? I think that a more timely information disbursement would have applicable for this situation. We have not received any correspondence about this at all. I think you should have sent the information along with the bill at the very least. I will further review the paperwork for the purchase of my property and get back with you. In the meantime I would appreciate an explanation as to why this has become an issue and why I am being assessed $40 for something I have no need for at this time.
Thanks,
I just feel it's unfair that we are paying and people who move in get the
benefits without paying.
Also, will this cover 100% of every lot in the sub-division or just the ones
with housing currently. Will there be further "special bills" down the
line when more building is done and additional hydrants are needed?
No hard feelings here.
Dear Art.
I see the home owners are taking advantage of the land owners again. Your letter insults my intelligence with several glaring flaws.
1. In the first place the fires out west in the Parks are due to mans stopping the natural process of fires to clean up the environment which in this case would wipe out all of the cedars that are sucking the water out of the ground so the springs are not flowing.
2. If you keep the vegetation away from your homes there is no fuel for a fire.
3. Your good news about savings on home owners insurance means I am now paying for your insurance since I do not have a home to insure up there in the first place.
4. If you had not been spending money like crazy for a new club house (FOR HOME OWNERS) you would have enough money for the fire hydrants.
5. If you wanted to be fair divide the cost among home owners and give a rebate when a new home is built and charge a new home assessment fee.
6. NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO STEAL FROM ME PUT A GUN TO MY HEAD.
7. At the next election expect some land owner to run against you and maybe all of the home owners on the board.
Got it.
Will mail this week.
Thanks,
Morning Art
Nope. this is the first we've heard. We appreciate you letting us know now, and would like to request that this be re-sent. We understand the importance of the hydrants.
You're doing a super job ... fire hydrants great idea. Thanks for the reply.
Thank you Art. I'll put it in the mail today. And thanks to all the board members who researched this. Fire is an ever present danger. I will feel much safer with the fire hydrants, and I love being right down the street from the fire department.
Have a sunshiney day!
Dear Sir:
Enclosed is my check of $40.00 for the Fire Hydrants Project. A most important improvement to our growing community!
I would like to suggest that a nice street map of Rocky Creek Ranch be developed as part of this project showing all street names and the locations of the present and future fire hydrants. And, a copy of this map be included in some future news letter of the land owners' use.
Keep up the good work!
Hi Gerald, I've been unavailable and just read the e-mail. We will put a check in the mail Monday. This is something that is definitely needed. The results of a wildfire (or any fire) is devastating. Our daughter moved to California last year and was evacuated twice. Her camp was partially destroyed in those fires. We visited her in November and it was a sobering experience to see how whole communities were affected. One house would be standing right next to four or five in ashes. It certainly makes you appreciate having a fire hydrant close in case of any emergency. We are glad to know that when we build on our property it will be a safer place to live. Thank for your hard work.
Six days after out membership meeting, I barely escaped the 130,000 acre wild fire at Dimmit/LaSalle counties in South Texas. My travel trailer was a total loss. I watched this fire travel more than a mile, in less than twenty minutes. We must get these fire hydrants. Thanks for all your help.
Wonderful plan!
Good Job RCMC

Thanks to all of you for everything you do to make our community a better, safer place to be.
Sorry the payment is late. Thanks for trying to make the area safer to live!
